The first Mk V keeps the Constellation's shape and its four nose-and-body S5 guns, then moves the whole ship up a weight class. It is more than three times as heavy as the Mk IV Taurus, nearly triples its shields, and trades the manned turrets for two remote quad mounts flown from the bridge.

RSI says the extra size buys a bigger hold that takes some of the largest ground vehicles in the game, internal components the crew can reach in flight, missile reloads from inside the ship, and more room to live aboard. It turns and accelerates more slowly than the Mk IV and needs more space to reposition in a fight. It is still lighter armored than dedicated warships like the Hammerhead or Perseus.

The store spec sheet undercounts the turrets. It lists one S3 per turret and "2× Size 6" missiles. The game files show four Panthers per turret, and the S6 figure is the rack size holding sixteen S2 missiles each, which matches the dev Q&A.

The Mk V bridge with pilot, copilot and two turret stations facing an open canopy
Bridge and crew

Everyone in one room

The bridge is new but keeps the original idea of seating the whole crew together. The canopy struts are gone, so the forward view is much cleaner.

Four stations: pilot, copilot and two turret gunners, all at the front of the ship.

Four bunks in the crew quarters.

Shields 200,000 HP, hull 170,500 HP, armor 25,740 HP with physical deflection of 531.

Expedited insurance claim in 4.5 minutes, standard in 13.5.

Included snub fighter

RSI Skylark

The Skylark rides under the Centaurus. The pilot lies prone to keep the fuselage slim. It carries two shield generators, which is unusual for a snub, so it lasts longer in a fight but sits at the heavier end of its class.

Its inventory and weapon rack work both while docked and when landed on its own. RSI plans to sell it as a standalone ship at IAE this year.

Two limits. The Centaurus cannot refuel, rearm or repair the Skylark, and no other snub (Merlin, Archimedes) fits the dock.

240 SCU behind a wide ramp

The landing gear and landed stance deliberately echo the original Constellation. The hold loads through a broad descending ramp and takes cargo or vehicles.

Cargo grows from 174 SCU on the Mk IV Taurus to 240 SCU.

RSI has confirmed more Mk V variants, in familiar and new roles.
